Final Friday October 27th, 2023
Cincinnati Artist of the Month
Mary Barr Rhodes – Main Warehouse Studio 712
Sonos Lumia II
October 27, 2023
5-9pm
We invite you to a multi-media event exploring humanity’s relationship with light and sound. Rhodes remakes light, concrete and metallics into engaging, reflective moments. Ben Britton, in collaboration with Rhodes, creates large scale video into flashes of light that evoke the sense of cycles. Ionne composes original compositions that are heavy and complex. He is also creating a solfeggio sound mix that will be linked to the video by Britton and Rhodes. Guests are encouraged to bring their own personal listening device (smart phone and earphones) to scan QR codes that will link them to Ionne’s music and to view an Artivive augmented reality video that delves deeper into Rhodes’s mixed media painting process.

SONOS LUMIA II
Mary Barr Rhodes presents a unique, immersive art event that explores humanity’s relationship with light. The three collaborators have worked over the past two years to create works that bring about positive cultural change.
Mary Barr Rhodes transforms paint, glass, concrete, and metallics into captivating, mixed media artworks that invite a deeper understanding of light. Rhodes has created two-dimensional and three-dimensional works to tell her story. Divine feminine energy, the state of the current news media and a nod to ritual are just some of the topics that are presented.
Ben Britton, local electronic media artist, has collaborated with Rhodes to create a large-scale, immersive video wall that connotes the cycles of life.
Ionne, Connecticut composer and performer, writes original musical scores and lyrics telling stories of how light impacts our lives.
For a full multimedia experience, please bring your personal listening devices (smartphone and earphones.) Scan QR codes to listen to Ionne’s deep and complex music and to watch an augmented reality space, delving deeper into Rhodes’s mixed media painting process.
We invite you to an Artist’s Talk at 8:15. All three artists will be on hand to talk about their involvement in this event.
Wine and snacks will be served. Valet is $10.
