I spent 17 years in community organizing around environmental and consumer issues. It was a rewarding career, but I found little room in my life for creativity.
The pandemic was an opportunity for me to step back and reevaluate my path in life. I spent time reigniting my long-buried passion for drawing, painting, and sewing. I often choose flowers as my subject matter because I've always been one to stop and smell the roses or to admire a wildflower meadow.
I've been doing a photography apprenticeship since 2017 with my husband, Chris Kromer, and often photograph our travels for inspiration in my artwork.
