Vendor Biography

Joell Angel-Chumbley received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Mount St. Joseph University, and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Cincinnati, College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP). Her multi-disciplinary experience has awarded her local, regional and national mention in various publications including: SEGD Communication + Place, SEGD Messages, Festival Graphics, Urban Identities, City Signs, Designer Greeting Cards, and Cincinnati Magazine.

Joell is a professional sculptor and painter exhibiting work both regionally and nationally. She has curated and facilitated multi-tiered artwork programs and engagement workshops utilizing art making as a vehicle positive community engagement. She is also the Supervising Graphic Design Lead at the City of Cincinnati, DOTE, Architecture and Urban Design Office, leading the strategic creative vision of public projects, transforming 52 city neighborhoods through public engagement, placemaking, public art, and civic branding. 

Joell’s passion for collaboration and mentoring has led her to a distinguished career in teaching and a recent national honor, 2020 SEGD Educator Award. She has served as full-time faculty at Mount St. Joseph University (2010-2013), adjunct faculty at the University of Cincinnati, College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (2013-2020), and adjunct faculty at Miami University, Oxford, OH (2000).
