“Infinite Hope” was inspired by considering all of the people in our lives (dear ones, strangers, brief encounters, lifelong friends) who change us, love us, inspire us, teach us and challenge us. These people allow us to stand on their shoulders each time we become a newer version of ourselves.
I often feel like a human quilt. I’ve been richly patch-worked by those I’ve encountered in my life. The skirt and bodice of this piece are collages from original photography images of abstracted people that symbolize those who make up our quilts. The whole of who I am, quilted together by so many people and experiences, gives me infinite hope for future versions of me.
