Holly Seltman is a Cincinnati, Ohio based artist who explores oil painting through impressionism and fauvism.  Her distinctive and personal style is filled with a combination of light, color, bold strokes, pattern and texture.  She enjoys painting landscapes from beach scenes to captivating Northern Michigan sailing scenes to fun colorful abstracts and playful portraits.

Holly is a self taught artist who has been painting since an early age.  She has studied many different techniques through various classes and workshops. Through all these she has developed her own fun personal style. Painting “Wet on Wet” a technique called Alla Prima is her primary method of painting. Her style of painting falls under fauvism and impressionism.

Holly spends her time painting in her Cincinnati home studio or in her Michigan studio.  She also has a studio that she uses as a gallery at the Pendleton Art Center.  She is a member of the Crooked Tree Center in Petoskey Michigan and the Women’s Art Club of Cincinnati.  In 2021 one of her pieces was selected for the renowned  Ugotta Regatta t-shirt celebrating 60 years.  The Ugotta Regatta sailing race held in Northern Michigan brings together some of the best sailboat racing in the country on Little Traverse Bay.  Holly has been selected for national juried shows in Cincinnati and in Northern Michigan, winning a first place.  Holly is an ongoing participant in the Dart for Art benefitting The Crooked Tree Art Center who’s mission is to inspire and enrich lives through the arts.
