I have always been interested in buildings and structures of all kinds. As a boy I built small cities of clay and sticks, forts and huts of stones and cast-off wood. Now I paint them using oil and (mostly) wooden panels.

About the Artist

I am entranced by common place architecture and its existence within- and intrusion upon- the natural landscape. Adapting the clean, geometric vocabulary of Cubist and Precisionist painters, I explore the structural relationships of both boundaries and connections between the built environment and organic nature that surrounds or is surrounded by it. I add rich color to reveal the true intensity of these ordinary places.
