About the Artist

  • Artist Statement

As an artist I am concerned with the physical and visual world around me. I am inspired by nature as well as the man made world. Mother Nature is the ultimate teacher for me. My experience with art has not only taught me about the world I live in, but also about myself. My journey with art has taught me the value of understanding the process I am doing. The more aware I am of this process, the better chance I have of creating a worthwhile product.

As a painter I interpret the world I see, move through and touch. The experience of making marks on paper or brushstrokes on canvas allows me the opportunity to record something not only on one of these surfaces, but also in my mind and body as my own experience. My drawings and paintings are the result of this process of getting to know something with my eyes, my mind, my hands and my body.

I love observing landscapes and cityscapes and finding the relationships between the forms and colors that create our beautiful world. My goal with my painting is to provide the viewer with a glimpse of how I see and experience the world and the joy it gives me.
